I saw Clone Wars on Saturday night. The short review is that I liked it and had a good time.
It’s fun and lively. The movie assumes you are a Star Wars fan and knows what is going on. Plenty of Clone on Droid action and battle scenes. Of course it’s all animated and still enjoyable but a bit too cartoon like at times. On a few occassions the combat is close quarters and becomes unbelievable, even for Star Wars.
I won’t get into critiqueing the plot. There is plenty of spoilers on the ‘net if that is what you are looking for. But I thought I’d post to say that I enjoyed it. If you are a Star Wars fan then you might as well.

I’ve been using the beta version of EverNote for a couple of weeks now. EverNote is a notebook-like application that makes it easy to capture information from many sources in any environment using all kinds of devices and platforms and then make that information easily accessible and searchable.
If you are familiar with Google Notebook or Zoho Notebook then you will have some idea of how to use EverNote. But the “cool factor” with EverNote is that is has a client application that syncs up to the web to make your notes and clippings available offline as well as when you are online.
EverNote claims to have text recognition abilities that will recognize words in pictures or screen captures. But I’ve not had good success with it yet. I am reminded that this is still in beta so I am hopeful that it will work soon. You can see a nice video on the EverNote blog explaining text recognition. The use Skitch in the video; another application I like.
I’m currently using EverNote everyday for research, to do lists, organizing blog ideas and other things. After Firefox and Adium, it’s my next most used app currently.
EverNote client runs on Macintosh and Windows. The webclipper will work on Firefox, Safari or Internet Explorer 7.
It’s currently in beta and is by invitation only. You can register to receive an invite or email me, I have a few and may be able to hook you up or con one of my friends into sending you one.

If you didn’t know it from my Last.fm profile, I am a voracious podcast consumer. Yesterday I listened to This American Life from Chicago Public Radio. They release a weekly show that covers a topic in three or four acts. The topics are right out of everyday life. Sometimes they are very funny, sometimes more serious, always well done and thought provoking. This week’s show is entitled “Return to Childhood 2008″. It follows four people as they revisit their past and relate stories from their childhood. It got me thinking about my past, my childhood and the people I have lost contact with. this show and other events yesterday has got me wanting to catch up. So in the next several days I a hoping to send out a lot of emails and letters to people I haven’t spoken with in too long. And maybe I will go hunting for a few people I’m curious about.
